ในการลงโปรแกรม EndNote ซึ่งจะต้องใช้งานร่วมกับ Microsoft Word มีผู้ใช้บางท่านอาจจะมีปัญหาคือ เมื่อเปิด Microsoft Word แล้ว ไม่พบแถบเครื่องมือ EndNote ดังภาพด้านล่าง 
ผู้เขียนจึงได้รวบรวบวิธีการแก้ปัญหาดังกล่าวเบื้องต้น ซึ่งมีวิธีการ 2 รูปแบบดังนี้
- แก้ไขที่ตัวโปรแกรม EndNote
- แก้ไขที่โปรแกรม MS Word
วิธีการที่ 1 แก้ไขที่ตัวโปรแกรม EndNote
1. Browse to the EndNote X7 Program Files folder:
64-bit Machines: C:Program Files (x86)EndNote X7
32-bit Machines: C:Program FilesEndNote X7
2. Run the “Configure EndNote.exe” utility.
3. Make sure “Configure EndNote components” is selected and click Next.
4. Select Cite While You Write add-in for Microsoft Office and click Next.
5. Click Finish.
6. Open Microsoft Word and look for the EndNote X7 tools in the ribbon.
หรือทำตามขั้นตอนนี้ค่ะ
ปัญหา EndNote กับ Word 2007 (จากเว็บไซต์ www.vetmu.com)
วิธีการที่ 2 แก้ไขที่โปรแกรม MS Word
1. เปิด MS Word
2. เลือกเมนู File >>Options
3. จากหน้าต่าง “Word Options” เลือก “Add-ins” จากช่องหน้าต่างด้านซ้าย มองหารายการชื่อ “EndNote Cite While You Write” จากหน้าต่างทางด้านขวา
4.1 ถ้า EndNote Cite While You Write อยู่ในกลุ่ม “Inactive Application Add-ins” ให้ไปที่ตัวเลือก Manage (อยู่ทางด้านล่างของหน้าต่าง) เลือกรายการ “COM Add-ins” กดปุ่ม Go
>> ทำเครื่องหมายหน้าช่อง EndNote Cite While You Write กดปุ่ม OK
4.2 ถ้า EndNote Cite While You Write อยู่ในกลุ่ม “Disabled Application Add-ins” ให้ไปที่ตัวเลือก Manage (อยู่ทางด้านล่างของหน้าต่าง) เลือกรายการ “Disable items” กดปุ่ม Go
>> ถ้าสาเหตุเกิดจาก CWYW Add-ins ถูก disabled จะมีชื่อ EndNote Cite While You Write อยู่ในช่องนี้ ให้ใช้เมาส์เลือกรายการแล้วกดปุ่ม Enable
