Until the end of December 2021, all Thammasat University students, instructors, and staff are cordially invited to download Cambridge Core collection titles for free from the TU Library website database offerings.

This opportunity, scheduled to expire at the end of December, allows researchers in all academic disciplines to create their own private reference library in pdf form.

No matter what their field of study, there should be items of interest in the Cambridge Core collection, the books and journals platform from Cambridge University Press.

As of last month, there were more than 41,000 ebooks available on the Cambridge Core collection, and many are free to download as part of this special opportunity.

Many books are included that are not owned by the TU Library, and some might even be time-consuming to obtain by the TU Library Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service.

Genuinely broad in scope, each handbook in this series provides a complete state-of-the-field overview of a major sub-discipline within language study, law, and psychological science research.

For example, students interested in cinema and media studies might wish to look at the Cambridge Film Handbooks available for download.

Those who are studying anthropology will surely find material of use in the Cambridge Handbooks in Anthropology.

Students of philosophy will likewise enjoy the insights published in the Cambridge Handbooks in Philosophy.

There is also a series of Cambridge Lexicons about different philosophers.

Even if the subjects are not related to immediate assignments, books may be helpful throughout an academic career. For example, if an undergraduate student downloads a book now, it might be essential for preparing a senior essay or graduate research. Once it is safely preserved on an individual Dropbox account, it can always be referred to again when it might be timely.

For this reason, TU students at the Faculty of Law might do well to examine the titles offered for free download in the series of Cambridge Law Handbooks.

Students who are researching psychology will also find pertinent material in the Cambridge Handbooks in Psychology, just as students of literature should be pleased to see the Cambridge Introductions to Literature.
