หัวข้อเรื่อง NGA ŪPOKO TUKUTUKU Maori Subject Headings Thesaurus บรรยายในการประชุม OCLC ครั้งที่ 6 วันที่ 14 ตุลาคม 2557 ณ Jeju Grand Hotel สาธารณรัฐเกาหลี กล่าวถึงพัฒนาการกำหนดหัวเรื่อง อรรถาภิธานศัพท์ภาษาเมารี บรรยายโดย Raewyn Paewai, Auckland Libraries and Anne Reweti, Wellington City Libraries ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์
วิทยากรได้เริ่มต้นด้วยการร้องเพลงภาษาเมารี แล้วถึงเล่าเรื่องชนเผ่าเมารี ว่าป็นชาวพื้นเมืองของประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ ตั้งรกรากอยู่แถบแปซิฟิก โดยอพยพมาประมาณปี ค.ศ.1200 – 1400 มีการสืบทอดเรื่องเล่าจากปากต่อปาก ข้อมูลจะถูกส่งผ่านทางเพลง การตั้งชื่อสถานที่ และการท่องจำ จนกระทั่งมิชชันนารีเข้ามาในปลายปี ค.ศ. 1800 จึงเป็นผู้นำกระบวนการพิมพ์และสร้างภาษาเขียนให้
